This cottage was an ugly duckling and had been let go, with no one occupying the address for several years. A complete renovation was required for this project which began with extensive demolition and cleaning of the remaining elements. A new water tank was carefully brought down the newly laid, albeit still challenging driveway. The garage received a transformation into a games room with carpet and two guest rooms upstairs. New decks popped up off the garage and around the cottage while inside the cottage experienced a complete makeover.
PONSONBY VILLA
Oneill Street, Ponsonby, Auckland
Our work on this 1920's Ponsonby villa was an extensive renovation. The project required the house to be repiled, and included transformation of much of the interior living spaces into a modern and more open plan area. To achieve the desired indoor-outdoor flow the dining, kitchen, family area, scullery and laundry were gutted and reconfigured. The chimney and dual fireplace was deconstructed brick by brick and the very top was reinstated to retain the heritage street view. Stunning corner stacking doors were installed and allow for great flow onto the new deck.
